Total freight traffic of 231 GMT is estimated by FY 2045 to traverse on the Proposed Section
Key commodities expected to move along the proposed section are Coal, Cement and Steel in Up Direction and Food grains, Containers and Cement in Down Direction. At present, daily up and down direction movements on existing IR route is 29 and 28 rakes respectively.
The section is expected to serve major power houses, industrial corridors and MMLPs in the Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Increasing trends in finished steel consumption and production would drive growth of steel traffic on the route. Further, to attract more traffic and achieve targeted rail share of freight, DFCCIL would develop MMLPs, Sidings and Feeder routes for last mile connectivity along the section alignment.
The section is expected to handle 100 Rakes/day in both directions by FY 2045 with 154 GMT traffic in Up Direction and 77 GMT in Down Direction.
