Ministry of Railways, Government of India through its Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (“DFCCIL”) is developing Sonnagar – Gomoh Section (263.705 kms) of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) on Public Private Participation (PPP) basis.
The project is to be developed on Annuity Model, where in the Concessionaire would design, develop, construct and finance the project and in return the DFCCIL (“Authority”) would provide fixed Annuity payments backed by Sovereign Guarantee. The total project cost is estimated to be INR 9,800 Crores (approx.), making it one of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken by Indian Railways on PPP basis.
